DATES
July 24 - 26 with Suze
LOCATION
Hippolytushoef, The Netherlands
WHAT
During this retreat, on a former Wadden Sea island, you are guided to be with yourself and to become friends with your nervous system.
Through yoga, yoga nidra, somatic practices and guided self-inquiry, you will learn how to stay present with what is happening in your body, whether that feels calm, activated or somewhere in between, and to develop flexibility and trust in your own system.
In a world that constantly asks us to optimise and improve, with being regulated as one of the many things to achieve, many of us have started to experience our nervous system as something that needs to be controlled or fixed. Tension, restlessness or fatigue are not signs that you are failing, but messages from protective parts that ask you to listen.
During this intimate two-day retreat, we explore how to build a different relationship with your nervous system, based on curiosity, understanding and compassion.
We combine embodied practices with psychological insight inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS), helping you understand how protective patterns and the nervous system work together.
TEACHER
Suze Retera is a psychologist and body-oriented therapist. In her work, she bridges psychology and the body, as real change does not come from understanding alone, but from embodiment.
She works with an integrative approach that brings together Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), orthomolecular therapy, and embodied practices such as yoga, TRE, and yoga nidra. In this way, insights become not only clear, but also tangible and sustainably integrated into how you feel, act, and relate.
Suze works one-on-one and offers workshops, retreats, and online courses.
LOCATION
We offer two nights in a beautiful restored farm in the north of The Netherlands, three kilometers from the Wadden Sea. The large open kitchen is the beating heart of the barn, surrounded by various seating areas, dining tables and a lounge corner. The mezzanine on the first floor is ideal for yoga. The light that enters through the stepped skylights of the wooden structure creates a special atmosphere.
The barn has nine bedrooms, single, double and triple, that are equipped with single box-spring beds, a desk and a private bathroom with rain shower. The beds are made up with linen and towels are provided.
Sustainability is the core of the place optimally insulated and gas-free and is heated and cooled by a geothermal heat pump. There are no less than a hundred solar panels on the roof of the barn and there are charging points for electric cars.
You can swim at Lutjestrand, which is five kilometers from the farm. Bicycles are available to rent.
FOOD + DRINKS
We will share homemade meals, mostly plant-based, think of creamy bean dips, a variety of tomatoes with peaches and stracciatella, miso frittata with mustard greens and tahini brownies.
We believe that making healthy choices in life doesn’t have to be hard at all, food that will not just nurture your body, but is tasty at the same time. Our focus lies on sourcing the best produce, we try to work directly with farmers who love their craft.
